Biography

Glenn McCumber was born in Oregon and grew up amid the trees of the Coast Range. He started in theatre at a rural elementary school, participated in a musical theatre program and continued performing in theatre through high school.

After attending the immersive summer seminar offered by Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Glenn moved to Ashland to enroll in the theatre program at Southern Oregon University, where he earned his BFA in performance. In this competitive environment, he landed lead roles in four productions and several student films, performed with Rogue Valley Opera, and co-created a cirque-inspired show which took place mostly on rope.

After graduating, Glenn traveled the United States and Europe for several years before returning to Oregon to pursue theatre and film. Landing in Portland at the end of 2007, he co-founded Lunacy Stageworks and produced five shows. He acted in four of them, most notably Jack and Jill and Love Song, and directed one, an original adaptation of Hecuba and Trojan Women.

Glenn has also worked with several other Portland theatre companies, including Post5, Northwest Classical and Anon It Moves, for whom he played King Henry in that company's inaugural production: The Fifth.

In 2013, Glenn turned his attention to film and made seven short films that year, including The Valet, Survivor Type and Ten Years (link password: tenyears). He regularly attends acting workshops led by Jason Satterlund, as well as other classes periodically, such as the Advanced On-camera Audition Workshop led by Eryn Goodman and Tim True.

Glenn is currently pursuing work in film, television and commercials. He's represented by Option Model & Media.
